UM Board of Curators Chair and UM System President express thanks for record donation to Missouri S&T

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Today, Missouri University of Science and Technology received the largest single gift in the history of Missouri higher education as Fred and June Kummer donated $300 million to a foundation that will support Missouri S&T.

“We are truly overwhelmed by Mr. and Mrs. Kummer’s generosity and vision for Missouri S&T; I don’t even have the words to express our gratitude,” said Julia Brncic, chair of the University of Missouri Board of Curators. “This will be transformational for Missouri S&T and higher education in our state. This gift will advance opportunities for students, research, communities and Missouri citizens for generations to come.”

“This is a tremendous gift for higher education and economic development in Missouri,” said Mun Choi, president of the University of Missouri System. “I’m grateful to Fred and June Kummer for their confidence in Chancellor Dehghani to lead the transformation at S&T. I want to commend Chancellor Dehghani for his visionary leadership and persistence.”
