Governance Committee Meeting

Three committees of the University of Missouri Board of Curators will meet Thursday and
Friday, Aug. 20-21, 2009. The Resources and Planning Committee and the Compensation and
Human Resources Committee will meet Thursday, Aug. 20 via the Telepresence Centers on the
university’s four campuses in Columbia, Kansas City, Rolla and St. Louis. The Governance
Committee will meet Friday, Aug. 21, originating in University Hall Conference Room 321,
Columbia, and at remote locations via conference telephone.

Additional details of the committee meetings are as follows:

Resources and Planning Committee

  • WHEN: 8:30-10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009
  • WHERE: Telepresence Centers on each campus*
  • AGENDA: The Resources and Planning Committee will meet in open session to review system accountability measures, review accreditation processes and results, and discuss national higher education issues. There are no recommended actions before the committee. A full agenda is available from the Board of Curators Web site at https://umsystem.edu/curators/.
  • ADDITIONAL ACCESS: Due to space constraints in the Telepresence Centers, additional public access to the Resources and Planning Committee meeting will be available via video stream from the University of Missouri System Web site at https://umsystem.edu/ums/curators/meetings/stream.shtml.  

Compensation and Human Resources Committee

  • WHEN: 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009
  • WHERE: Telepresence Centers on each campus*
  • AGENDA: The Compensation and Human Resources Committee will meet in open
    session to provide an opportunity for university administration to share information on
    the university’s various salary and benefit programs. Other than the approval of minutes
    from a past Human Resources and Compensation meeting and a motion to adjourn,
    there are no recommended actions before the committee. A full agenda is available

  • ADDITIONAL ACCESS: Due to space constraints in the Telepresence Centers, additional
    public access to the Compensation and Human Resources Committee meeting will be
    available via video stream from the University of Missouri System Web site at
    https://umsystem.edu/ums/curators/meetings/stream.shtml. In addition, a
    viewing room for those wishing to attend the meeting in Columbia is available in Ellis
    Auditorium in Ellis Library. The meeting slides can be viewed and printed by visiting the
    university’s new SlideShare site at http://www.slideshare.net/umsystem.
  • NOTE TO MEDIA: Each media outlet in Columbia wishing to cover the Compensation
    and Human Resources Committee meeting will be granted space for one reporter to
    attend the meeting in the Columbia Telepresence Center. Additional reporters may
    watch the meeting in the viewing room in Ellis Auditorium in Ellis Library or via video
    stream from the UM System Web site. Those reporters wishing to attend the meeting in
    the Columbia Telepresence Center must apply for media credentials by 5 p.m. Tuesday,
    Aug. 18 by contacting Assistant Director of Strategic Communications Jennifer

    attend the meeting at a Telepresence Center on another University of Missouri campus
    should contact the respective campus information officer.
  • MEDIA AVAILABILITY: A media availability with Vice President of Human Resources
    Betsy Rodriguez and Associate Vice President of Benefits Mike Paden is scheduled upon
    the conclusion of the Compensation and Human Resources Committee meeting in the
    Columbia Telepresence Center. Reporters at remote locations may dial in to access the
