- Filing Exempt from Missouri withholding
- Both conditions must be met and this is to be determined by the employee
- "If you had a right to a refund of ALL of your Missouri income tax withheld last year because you had NO tax liability and
- this year you expect a refund of ALL Missouri income tax withheld because you expect to have NO tax liability".
- Employees must file this form annually if they wish to continue the exemption
- Both conditions must be met and this is to be determined by the employee
- Completing a valid Missouri W-4 form

- All valid W-4 forms must have the following filled out
- Full Name Box
- Social Security Number
- Filing Status
- Home Address
- City or Town, State and Zip Code Box
- Employee's Signature and Date
- To claim Exempt from Missouri withholding
- Leave boxes 1-6 completely blank (1-5 of the University form)
- Write the word EXEMPT in box 7 ( Box 6 of the University form)
- To have Missouri tax withheld
- Fill out boxes 1-5 (1-4 of the University form)
- Leave box 7 blank ( Box 6 for the University form)
- To claim an additional amount of withholding
- Enter the amount to be withheld, in addition to the amount withheld for allowances, in box 6 ( Box 5 of the University form)
- Additional amounts can only be requested when an employee has a value in box 5
