Finance Support Center is here to serve you. It’s our hope that you are already aware of the University’s Finance Support Center, which supports the finance function for all four campuses and University hospital, but did you know that Finance Support Center (FSC) is actually part of UM System Supply Chain? The support center was originally developed as the Procurement Hotline in March 2010 to support procurement functions and after several successful years the services were expanded to support all finance functions in May 2014.
Between the hours of 8:00am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, FSC is available to address your questions and provides assistance via phone and email. Our areas of expertise include, but are not limited to Procurement/Supply chain, Accounting and Budgeting and the related systems of PeopleSoft, Web Applications, and Hyperion. By utilizing the Support Center, you receive the assistance you need and help us identify possible enhancements and training opportunities.
Each month, FSC receives approximately 1200 phone calls. While the focus is on supporting our customers’ needs, at times FSC serves as the point of contact for special projects, which can drastically increase our call volume. In the fall of 2015, FSC worked with Human Resources and the Controller’s Office to help gather dependent information from employees in order for the University to comply with federal health care reform laws. In early 2016, FSC assisted suppliers with questions about 1099 tax forms the University provides to its suppliers.
