Records Center User Guide - Step 6: Send Boxes

For offices located in Columbia, call 882-7652 to arrange for office pickup of boxes.
Boxes of records from the Kansas City, Rolla and St. Louis campuses are sent to the Records Center in Columbia by campus courier. Address boxes to: Records Center, 2910 LeMone Blvd., Columbia, MO 65201.

If sending by Courier, place small “Box of ” label (Exhibit “F”) on top each box.

At the Records Center

Records Center staff will check and verify each box in the shipment against the “Transmittal of Records” to insure that the records listed on the transmittal form match the boxes of records actually sent.

The Records analyst will assign retention period and disposition information to the records.

Once verification has been completed, the Records Center staff will assign each box a Records Center location number. This location number will be entered on the yellow copy of the “Transmittal of Records” form and returned to the department at the address on the form or via email.  


Save the your copy of the “Transmittal of Records” form.

The location number assigned to each box is needed to retrieve records from the Records Center.

If you maintain an index to your stored records, put the Location Number in your index.
