One-on-ones and courses

Working toward Economically Abundant Living Through Habit (WEALTH)

WEALTH consist of six one-on-one meetings over a three month period. Student volunteers from the Office for Financial Success (OFS) will work with you to cover several different aspects of personal finance, including building a budget, goal setting, choosing insurance, preparing for retirement, assessing your net-worth, and more.

Not in the Columbia area? No worries! The course is offered in-person, online, or over the phone. All faculty and staff are encouraged to sign up, no matter where they are on the road to financial wellness. Don’t forget—spouses and partners are always welcome to attend sessions with you, so financial decisions makers can move toward wellness together. How to get an “A” in retirement

Many decisions you make during your working years have significant implications for your retirement years; it is never too early or too late in your working years to take positive action and plan for retirement. “How to get an 'A' in retirement” is an eight-week online course offered through MU Extension, which educates participants on the new normal for retirement, as well as teaches them how to build on opportunities, solve problems, and make informed decisions about retirement. New classes are added each week. The course uses both personal financial planning strategies and positive psychology to help participates increase well-being in retirement as well as the years leading to retirement. Financial wellness one-on-ones

Interested in receiving personalized financial assistance but aren't able to participate in the six-month course? OFS also offers single one-on-one sessions. Visit the Office for Financial Success sign up webpage to schedule a meeting. Please note, single one-on-one courses are not eligible for Wellness Incentive points.

Looking to build your financial knowledge? Access books on setting financial goals, budgeting, debt-management, saving, and investing on myLearn. While there are many financial wellness resources available through myLearn, the items listed below are Wellness Incentive points-eligible as an online workshop. To access these resources, log in to myLearn and from the top menu select Browse the Library > select your campus. Then, in the left-hand menu, choose Wellness Incentive > Empower and Appreciate. Once in the Empower and Appreciate folder, you'll have access to all the titles below.
